Innovation competition at Energia 2020 – the energy event of Finland

Energia 2020 event will take place from 20 to 22 October in Tampere Exhibition and Sport Centre. The event brings together energy production, power transmission and storing, energy users, and environmental and circular economy and real estate decision makers under the same roof in October. This year’s event will showcase sustainable, smart, productive, and modern solutions to the energy transition.


The innovation competition organized by looks for novel solutions with great business potential and impact to advance the energy transition. The jury of the company will include leading energy sector venture capital investors, such as Helen Ventures, Voima Ventures, Business Finland and Valkea in addition to The jury will select 3-5 finalists, who will pitch on Tulevaisuus (future) -stage on October 22nd. The winner, which will be chosen by the jury and audience, will also get a 5000 euro cash prize awarded by Suomen Messusäätiö.

The finalists of Energia2020 innovation competition will get a prime opportunity to present their cases to the most influential energy sector decision makers at Energiapäivä organized by World Energy Council at Finlandia Hall on the 20th of October, 2020.
01.07.2020 is the main organizer of the innovation competition at Energia 2020. Energia 2020 is the largest energy event in Finland featuring the entire industry and all forms of energy. In addition to prize money to the winner, all finalists will have an opportunity to present their solutions for energy transition to the decision-makers of the industry, as well as discuss potential funding from the leading Finnish venture capital investors in the energy domain.

The total funding raised by the company was EUR 800 thousand, which includes a business development loan from Business Finland. The target company is American-based Ai4 Technologies, Inc, whose Finnish founders intend to respond to California wildfires with artificial intelligence.
